An opportunity to serve was first provided in 1901 by the Gentlemen at Asiatic Petroleum to our company. The provision of hand carts and bullock carts to transport the product of ‘Asiatic' marked the commencement of the business of transport.

In 1902, the Benzene Installation came into being at Sewree. The office of our company was put up in close proximity at Sewree to facilitate greater co - ordination.

The successful completion of tasks assigned to the satisfaction of the providers of opportunity resulted in the provision of multiple tasks thereafter, such as locating, requisitioning, loading and unloading of tank wagons for transportation of Asphalt, Bitumen and other materials.

Maintenance of Locations - Sewree, Wadi Bunder

Maintenance of Real Estate - Bungalows, Flats & Offices which included general maintenance to the crafting of custom built furniture to furnishing and painting.

The bulk loading facility - The Wadi Bunder Terminal required the provision of tank trucks. One hundred vehicles mounted with tanks were provided for the purpose by our company. The ‘elliptical' tanks were fabricated at New Standard Engineering Company Limited for a princely sum of Rs. 700 apiece in accordance with the drawings created by Mr. T. J. Murphy of ‘K' Installation. The first of those tanks was fabricated under his personal supervision.

These vehicles were used to ferry the product of Burmah Shell across the erstwhile Bombay State as also the adjoining States of Mysore and what is now Madhya Pradesh as ‘Stock Transfer'.

As we look back over the years, we could not help but remember those Men of Principle, whom we do revere and respect even today:

Mr. K. P. N. Nair, S & D Chief an individual amongst countless others we do revere even today Burmah Shell Oil Storage and Distribution Company of India Limited.

Burmah Shell Refinery was put up by ‘Lumus & Company' whose General Manager at that point of time was a Mr. Donald. The refinery put up in Mahul in Bombay became fully operational in the year 1958. Mr. Traw was the first Chief of Refinery Operations.

Nationalisation brought in its wake the entity of Bharat Refineries Limited that later evolved into Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited. The warmth endures to this day, for the trust, faith and confidence reposed has been respected and honored.

As we embark on the journey that takes our company into the next Centennial, we rededicate ourselves to those very principles that have guided us over the past century.
